Michael Kaeshammer

Michael Kaeshammer isn’t so much a piano player as a piano whisperer, a master musician and songwriter able to coax dazzling, kaleidoscopic sounds from his instrument in a way few can rival. Across a brilliant, globe-trotting career highlighted by nine tours of China, three appearances at the Olympics, and countless shows opposite international superstars, the German-born, B.C.-based Kaeshammer has electrified audiences with his indelible repertoire and consistently positive outlook on life which infuses his lyrics. “I am a very positive person,” confirms the seven-time JUNO Award nominee and unabashed foodie, who hosts cooking show Kaeshammer’s Kitchen on Vancouver Island’s CHEK TV. “I really love playing shows and being on-stage. If Turn It Up helps me to do more of that, then I’m all in. Music is my favourite thing to do.” “Kaeshammer’s piano playing is electrifying.” — Ottawa Citizen Sponsored by:

Sarah Harmer

Sarah Harmer is a multiple award-winning, platinum-selling singer-songwriter and environmental activist. A deeply personal and political collection of songs motivated by the beauty of life, the urgency of the climate crisis, and the question of loss, Sarah called the album a spiritual successor of sorts to her acclaimed 2000 debut. Its simple title, Are You Gone, is a meditation on presence and a bookend to the questions posed on You Were Here – a sharpened, more electric confrontation with the realities of nature and human nature. Between co-founding the citizen’s organization PERL (Protecting Escarpment Rural Land) and leading the successful effort to prevent an open-pit gravel mine in a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve on the Niagara Escarpment, Sarah has become a fixture in local politics and advocacy. In 2022, Sarah helped launch the Reform Gravel Mining Coalition in her home province of Ontario to protect water, farmland, and biodiversity. She is currently writing songs for a new album. * * * * * “One of Canada’s finest singer-songwriters.” — The Globe and Mail “Harmer’s voice is a thing of beauty.” — The New York Times
