The Other Mozart – The forgotten story of Mozart’s genius sister

The Other Mozart tells the true story of Nannerl Mozart, the genius sister of Amadeus, who performed throughout Europe alongside him to equal acclaim before her work and story faded from history. Playwright Sylvia Milo's award-winning, Drama Desk-nominated play draws on the Mozart family's letters to explore a world of opulence and artistry constrained by restriction and prejudice.

The performer wears a stunning 18-foot dress while moving within a multi-sensory experience: a music score by Nathan Davis and Phyllis Chen (Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival) uses clavichords, music boxes, teacups, and fluttering fans to bring Nannerl's musical imagination to life. The production surrounds the audience with the dress's opulent beauty, the scent of perfume, enveloping sound, and clouds of dusting powder.

In this intimate theatrical setting, Nannerl at last tells her own story.
