Movies by the Lake: Stand by Me

Movies by the Lake 2026 🎬 returns for its 5th season of outdoor cinema at Spencer Smith Park, set up parallel to the gazebo near the Waterfront Hotel at the eastern end of the park. Each movie night transforms the waterfront into an open-air theatre. Arrive early to enjoy the lakeside atmosphere, catch sunset views, and connect with neighbours before the film begins at dusk. No tickets or assigned seating required. Bring blankets, lawn chairs, and snacks. The event is all-ages and alcohol-free. Attendees are asked to respect fellow audience members during the show. Security staff are present if assistance is needed. Accessible seating, captioning, and other accessibility accommodations are available — contact the organizers to learn more. Movies start at dusk. In the event of inclement weather, the movie will be cancelled; all cancellations are posted to @burlingtondowntownbia on Instagram and Facebook. Live Music at the Elgin Promenade 🎵 The Elgin Promenade is hosting a Summer Music Series featuring a different local artist each Saturday from 1:00–4:00 p.m. The series runs July 11 through August 22. Performers include Emma Whale (July 11), Ariana Fig (July 25), Luiz Grante (August 1), Natalie Reis (August 8), Jesse Adams (August 15), and Nolan Gibson (August 22). Each week also features complimentary activities such as facepainting, typewriter poetry, and caricatures — with something different offered each Saturday. The event is open to shoppers, diners, friends meeting up, or anyone out for a stroll in the downtown core.
