Join us to discuss The Stone Witch of Florence by Anna Rasche Who are we? We are a group of "geeky" readers who meet monthly to discuss fantasy and sci-fi novels. What are the meetings like? Our meetings are focused on discussing this month's novel. If you've ever been frustrated after attending a book club where no-one actually talked about the book (or even finished it!) geeky book club may be for you! Questions will be provided to help guide the discussion, and we encourage you to share your own thoughts and takeways with the group. What kind of books do you read? We generally alternate between fantasy and sci-fi novels each month. Our books are chosen by vote; once you've attended your first meeting you will receive links to vote on our future books. . This book club brings together readers for conversation and community. The evening begins with informal mingling, followed by a guided discussion of the month's selection led by library staff. The Halton Memory Café is a welcoming social gathering for people living with dementia and their care partners to attend together. Each session offers a relaxed opportunity to connect with others, enjoy meaningful conversation, participate in light activities, and spend time in a supportive community setting. The Memory Café is not a clinical program or a formal education session. It is designed to be friendly, inclusive, and comfortable for both the person living with dementia and the care partner who supports them. The goal is simple: to create a positive space where individuals and families can feel welcomed, understood, and less alone. Registration is free. Space may be limited, and advance registration is requested so we can plan appropriately for seating, refreshments, and activities.

A resource night for Halton families on autism funding and support. Join Us for Navigating Autism Support & Care in the Halton Region! Join us for an evening focused on autism support and care options in the Halton Region. Elemenoe is hosting a free , drop-in resource night open to families in the community, whether you're already connected with us or just starting to explore your options. Elemenoe's speech-language pathologist ( SLP ) and behaviour analyst will be on hand throughout the evening, along with AccessOAP , who can answer your questions about registering for the Ontario Autism Program, reconciling your funding, and making the most of your OAP budget. Calm Guidance Psychotherapy will be there with information about their services. ROCK (Reach Out Centre for Kids) will also be there to share information about their free, OAP-funded programs, including workshops and caregiver cafés for newly registered families, an early intervention program for young children, and short-term support for families navigating high-risk behaviours. Sound Matters will be on hand to talk about audiology, auditory processing, and literacy support, and a few more local providers will be joining the room. This is an informal resource night, not a presentation, so come and go as it suits you and spend as much time as you'd like at each table. You're welcome to connect with any, all, or none of the providers present. There's no obligation to choose one (we're not the only ones who can help!), and no cost to attend. We'll have pizza & snacks ready for everyone who registers, so please save your spot below and let us know you're coming! Textures of Twilight

A special evening of Indian classical music in the intimate setting of St. John’s Anglican Church in Burlington presented by The Raga Fellowship, in partnership with Saffron Strings and Small World Music. Textures of Twilight brings together sitar and voice in a double-bill featuring master musicians Abhik Mukherjee and Samarth Nagarkar, who bring their distinctive approaches to raga and improvisation. Part One: Sitar Recital The evening opens with highly regarded New York-based sitarist Abhik Mukherjee, whose music is rooted in the Vilayat Khan tradition. Known for his expressive and nuanced playing, Abhik will be accompanied by Toronto tabla maestro Ravi Naimpally. Part Two: Khayal Vocal The second half turns to voice with acclaimed khayal vocalist Samarth Nagarkar. Drawing from the Gwalior, Agra and Jaipur traditions, Samarth brings together depth, spontaneity and exploration as each raga develops in the moment. He will be joined by Sushant Anantharam on harmonium and Zaheer-Abbas Janmohamed on tabla. Together, the two performances offer different expressions of the same musical tradition - first through the resonance of the sitar, then through the richness of the human voice. At the heart of both is what makes Indian classical music so compelling live: improvisation, conversation between musicians, and music that takes shape in the room. Set within the historic carpenter-Gothic surroundings of St. John’s, the evening is designed as an intimate encounter with the music, whether Indian classical music is already familiar to you or you are experiencing it for the first time. October Ancaster (Burlington) West Coast Swing Dance

Simply Ballroom Burlington is launching a new Beginner West Coast Swing program in 2026. No experience or partner is needed—the class welcomes dancers brand new to the style, those transitioning from other dance forms, and anyone wanting to learn the opposite role or refresh their basics. The evening runs from 7:00 PM to midnight. The Beginner Groove Session (7:00–8:00 PM) teaches essential moves and rhythms in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The Technique Deep Dive (8:00–8:30 PM) is open to all levels and explores one key element each month—such as connection, timing, walks, triples, or styling. Social dancing follows from 8:30 PM to midnight. Joanna Swanson teaches the lessons. Beginners should arrive by 6:45 PM to catch the start of the class. Admission is $15 and includes both lessons. The studio is located at 3323 Mainway, Burlington, in the building on the left side of the parking area, about two-thirds of the way along. 2026 dance dates: January 10, February 28, March 14, April 25, May 9, June 6, August 8, September 12, October 3, November 14, December 5.
