Let’s Play With … Decoupage!

Bottoms Up Events is leading a decoupage workshop hosted by Community Connection Day. Participants will learn to transform items using decorative paper napkins and will create two finished keepsake pieces to take home. The workshop is guided step-by-step and requires no prior experience. All materials and supplies are provided, along with light snacks and beverages. Friday, June 19, 2026. Doors open at 6:45 PM; workshop runs 7:00 PM–9:00 PM. Location: 2201 Brant Street, Unit #105 (2nd Floor), Burlington, Ontario L7P 3N8. Note: The workshop space is on the second floor with no elevator access. Early bird tickets (by May 31): $60. Regular tickets: $65. Burlington’s Summer Music Parade

The Burlington Summer Music Parade takes place Saturday, June 20, starting at 10 a.m. from Drury Lane and Caroline Street, proceeding through downtown. Marching bands, floats, and performers will travel the route. Featured groups include the Burlington Teen Tour Band, the Junior Redcoats, and the Top Hat Marching Orchestra. Road closures begin at 9:30 a.m. and remain in effect until noon. Best viewing areas: Caroline Street between Drury Lane and Brant Street, and Brant Street from Caroline Street to Baldwin Street. Arrive early for preferred spots.

Learn the fundamentals of coffee cupping at Firebat Coffee Roasters. This hands-on, guided session is designed for both beginners and experienced coffee enthusiasts. Attendees will receive an introduction to cupping basics and professional evaluation techniques. The session includes tasting a curated selection of coffees with diverse varieties, processing methods, and roast levels to explore how these factors influence aroma, flavor, acidity, body, and aftertaste. Participants will follow a structured cupping process to prepare, assess, and score coffee attributes using professional forms, identifying positive traits and potential defects. Guided discussions will cover flavor notes, sensory experiences, and the stories behind each bean. Each attendee will select a 340-gram bag of their favorite coffee from the tasting to take home. Spaces are limited. Reserve your spot to secure attendance.
