Eco Fun with BG at the Royal Botanical Gardens!

Take a nature walk, make a seedball and join other eco-fun with BG at Royal Botanical Gardens on October 3rd and 4th, 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. BurlingtonGreen will have a tent at the annual Telling Tales Children’s Literary Festival in Hendrie Park at the RBG. Here’s our schedule of activities: Daily 9:45 am – 5 pm – Drop by the BG tent to make your own native wildflower seed balls and learn how you can help protect and nurture butterflies and other pollinators. We’ll also have other all-ages eco-fun and climate action resources. Daily at 11:00 am, 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm – Join a Nature Discovery Walk with BG. During this 30 minute guided walk, you’ll discover fascinating facts about nature all around us. Get inspired to be an eco-champion for special friends like amazing Monarch Butterflies, and afterwards you can stay to make seedballs to grow wildflowers that can attract butterflies and other pollinators to your own backyard or balcony. Drive for ALL Golf Tournament 2026

Join us for a day of golf in support of Juravinski Hospital and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada, raising funds for blood cancer. On February 7, 2025, Ryan was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia — a moment that changed everything. What followed was an intense and humbling journey through multiple rounds of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and ultimately an allogeneic stem cell transplant. Throughout his treatment, the exceptional care provided by Juravinski Hospital , alongside the critical research and support funded by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC) , played a vital role in his recovery. These organizations don’t just provide life-saving care — they give families hope during their most challenging moments. In October 2025, Ryan’s Light the Night team raised over $20,000 , earning the Stronger Together Award from LLSC — a national recognition celebrating Friends & Family teams who turn personal journeys into collective impact. Building on that momentum, the Drive for ALL Charity Golf Tournament was created to bring our community together for a meaningful day on the course in support of a cause that truly matters. Tournament Details All proceeds from the tournament directly support Juravinski Hospital and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada , helping fund research, patient care, and family support programs. Textures of Twilight

A special evening of Indian classical music in the intimate setting of St. John’s Anglican Church in Burlington presented by The Raga Fellowship, in partnership with Saffron Strings and Small World Music. Textures of Twilight brings together sitar and voice in a double-bill featuring master musicians Abhik Mukherjee and Samarth Nagarkar, who bring their distinctive approaches to raga and improvisation. Part One: Sitar Recital The evening opens with highly regarded New York-based sitarist Abhik Mukherjee, whose music is rooted in the Vilayat Khan tradition. Known for his expressive and nuanced playing, Abhik will be accompanied by Toronto tabla maestro Ravi Naimpally. Part Two: Khayal Vocal The second half turns to voice with acclaimed khayal vocalist Samarth Nagarkar. Drawing from the Gwalior, Agra and Jaipur traditions, Samarth brings together depth, spontaneity and exploration as each raga develops in the moment. He will be joined by Sushant Anantharam on harmonium and Zaheer-Abbas Janmohamed on tabla. Together, the two performances offer different expressions of the same musical tradition - first through the resonance of the sitar, then through the richness of the human voice. At the heart of both is what makes Indian classical music so compelling live: improvisation, conversation between musicians, and music that takes shape in the room. Set within the historic carpenter-Gothic surroundings of St. John’s, the evening is designed as an intimate encounter with the music, whether Indian classical music is already familiar to you or you are experiencing it for the first time. October Ancaster (Burlington) West Coast Swing Dance

Simply Ballroom Burlington is launching a new Beginner West Coast Swing program in 2026. No experience or partner is needed—the class welcomes dancers brand new to the style, those transitioning from other dance forms, and anyone wanting to learn the opposite role or refresh their basics. The evening runs from 7:00 PM to midnight. The Beginner Groove Session (7:00–8:00 PM) teaches essential moves and rhythms in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The Technique Deep Dive (8:00–8:30 PM) is open to all levels and explores one key element each month—such as connection, timing, walks, triples, or styling. Social dancing follows from 8:30 PM to midnight. Joanna Swanson teaches the lessons. Beginners should arrive by 6:45 PM to catch the start of the class. Admission is $15 and includes both lessons. The studio is located at 3323 Mainway, Burlington, in the building on the left side of the parking area, about two-thirds of the way along. 2026 dance dates: January 10, February 28, March 14, April 25, May 9, June 6, August 8, September 12, October 3, November 14, December 5.
