Burlington Waterfront Dessert Walk A guided walk along the waterfront with dessert stops. The pace is relaxed and social, designed for connecting and enjoying the area. The organizers are opening one public group in the second half of June, pending sufficient participants. This is the only public walk scheduled for the season. Small group. Attendees may come solo or with friends. Spots are limited and will be confirmed once the group fills. Bookings are handled directly with the organizer — send a message to reserve a spot.

Food tells stories — about where we come from, how we adapt, and how communities are shaped over time. eat, make, share: Kids’ Kitchen Series invites young chefs to explore Canadian history through hands-on cooking and food storytelling. Inspired by the eat, make, share exhibition, this interactive workshop series looks at how food traditions have travelled, changed, and taken root in Canada.

Coffee Cupping 101

Learn the fundamentals of coffee cupping at Firebat Coffee Roasters. This hands-on, guided session is designed for both beginners and experienced coffee enthusiasts. Attendees will receive an introduction to cupping basics and professional evaluation techniques. The session includes tasting a curated selection of coffees with diverse varieties, processing methods, and roast levels to explore how these factors influence aroma, flavor, acidity, body, and aftertaste. Participants will follow a structured cupping process to prepare, assess, and score coffee attributes using professional forms, identifying positive traits and potential defects. Guided discussions will cover flavor notes, sensory experiences, and the stories behind each bean. Each attendee will select a 340-gram bag of their favorite coffee from the tasting to take home. Attendees will also enjoy a recipe demonstration & tasting, and have the opportunity to view the special exhibit eat make share: a taste of immigration from the Canadian Museums of Immigration at Pier 21. Featured titles will also be available for purchase directly from the author and in the Museum’s gift shop. Ticket includes admission to Joseph Brant Museum, speaker presentation (7pm), and light refreshments. June 25, 2026 | New Indian Basics by Arvinda Chauhan & Preena Chauhan Arvinda Chauhan’s passion for Indian cooking grew out necessity when her mother passed away when Arvinda was quite young. This adversity led her to develop a deep love for cooking, providing her a lifetime of culinary experience. In 1993 Arvinda, joined by her daughter Preena Chauhan, started teaching home cooks and chefs recipes from their ancestral country India, spanning across its diverse regions. The mother-daughter duo focused their classes on spices, the cornerstone of Indian cooking, teaching indispensable flavouring techniques so students can achieve exceptional results when recreating these specialties at home. Their spice flavouring know-how is shared in their debut cookbook, New Indian Basics — 100 Traditional and Modern Recipes from Arvinda’s Family Kitchen—a 2023 Taste Canada Awards Silver winner—which is a culmination of their culinary wisdom and recipes from their 30 years of teaching together. BLACK MUSIC ON THE BOARDWALK Waterfront Fete

Black Music on the Boardwalk Waterfront Fete is a free community event celebrating Black Music Month in Burlington, ON, held at Spencer Smith Park. The event features Caribbean and Nigerian Canadian food vendors, along with craft, retail, social service, and human service vendors. Craft and retail vendor applications are still available. 2026 Burlington Food Tours

Burlington Food Tours offers a Culinary Walking Tour in Downtown Burlington. Participants visit four restaurants in small groups of up to 20 and meet owners and chefs. The tour is limited to small group sizes to maintain an intimate experience.

Stand Up Comedy at Nickelbrook Brewery

Stand Up Comedy Night at Nickelbrook Brewery features local comedians performing live. The event takes place Saturday, June 27th at 3426 Mainway. Doors open at 8:30 PM; the show begins at 9:00 PM. Performers include host Owen Yaz, James Cummins, Robbie Da Silva, headliner CJ Bishop, and additional special guests. A full food menu and craft brewery beers and cocktails are available before, during, and after the show. Tickets are available in advance; the show has sold out in the past.

Jamaican Cuisine Cooking Class

A hands-on cooking class focused on Jamaican cuisine. Participants will prepare dishes, learn cooking techniques, and explore the cultural background of the food. The class welcomes cooks of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced home cooks. In-person attendance required.
