Ukrainian Passport Service Centre Opens on Harvester Road in Burlington
Ukrainians living in this part of Ontario no longer have to travel to another city to sort out a passport. A permanent Passport Service centre opened on October 20 at 3185 Harvester Road, Unit B2, announced by Ukraine's State Migration Service and run by the state enterprise Document.
The centre handles applications and renewals for Ukrainian ID cards and international passports, replacements for documents that have been lost or stolen, and exchanges of a 1994 passport booklet for a modern ID card, either by choice or when the old booklet is no longer fit for use. Applicants can also put in for an ID card and an international passport at the same time.
The Burlington location is starting in a test phase. It opens 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and runs by appointment only, booked through the electronic queue on the Document website.
The practical change here is the travel. Paperwork that used to mean a trip to another city now happens on Harvester Road.
