Burlington Transit Route 25 Gets 15 Minute Service November 1

Riders on Route 25 will be waiting less in the middle of the day. From Sunday, November 1, Burlington Transit runs the Walkers route every 15 minutes on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., closing the midday gap between the morning and afternoon peaks that already had buses that often.

Route 25 connects the Highway 407 park and ride at Dundas Street and Palladium Way to Appleby GO Station. After 6 p.m. the route stays at every 30 minutes.

Every other route shifts a little on the same day. City staff said all routes are being adjusted to improve connections and reliability, so it is worth checking your trip rather than assuming the old timing holds. Schedules and maps are on the MyRide site.

Six of Burlington Transit's 16 routes will now run every 15 minutes for at least part of the day. Collin Gribbons of Burlington For Accessible Sustainable Transit, which has pushed for better Route 25 service for years, said the smaller changes matter more than they look, because a few minutes saved on a connection changes the whole trip for anyone transferring.

What comes after is less certain. Provincial legislation passed in the spring moved control of fares and route planning from municipalities to the province, and city staff have paused work on the five year transit plan until they know what the province intends to direct. The plan is still expected in the first quarter of 2027.
