Lake Ontario Shoreline Open House Comes to Burlington November 17

Anyone who walks the Burlington waterfront has watched the shoreline change. On Tuesday, November 17, the three conservation authorities studying that stretch of Lake Ontario bring their open house to the Art Gallery of Burlington, running from 2 to 4:30 p.m.

The session covers the Lake Ontario Coastal Resilience pilot project, which looks at flooding, erosion and climate change along the shoreline and how those risks reach the communities beside the lake. The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority, Conservation Halton and the Hamilton Conservation Authority are running the project together.

Burlington's session is one of five. The others go in Oakville, Hamilton, St. Catharines and Grimsby, part of the project's ongoing work with the communities along the shore.

Project material and updates are posted on the project's engagement page.
