Theatre Burlington Opens Its Season With Icemen
Theatre Burlington opens its 2026-27 season on September 25 with Icemen, a thriller by Canadian playwright Vern Thiessen that asks who the real criminals are when the wealthy exploit the people who work for them. Tim Dennis directs and Moe Dwyer produces.
Three actors carry it. James Vézina plays Joe, and comes to Theatre Burlington after Tuesdays with Morrie at The Player's Guild of Hamilton and Late Company at Dundas Little Theatre. Brian Melanson plays Rennie and was last on this stage in 2009 in Copenhagen, which earned him an Adjudicator's Award at the Western Ontario Drama League festival. Gregory Flis plays Franklin Forsyth, his second Thiessen production after Einstein's Gift at Dundas Little Theatre.
Shows run September 25 and 26, October 2 and 3, and October 9 and 10. Evening curtain is 7:30 p.m. this season, earlier than the theatre's usual start, with 2 p.m. matinees on September 26, October 3 and October 10.
Tickets are $33, or $28 for seniors, through TheatreBurlington.on.ca or the box office at 905-639-7700. Season subscriptions are available, and this is the third year in a row the playbill is entirely Canadian.
