Parkinson SuperWalk Comes to Downtown Burlington on September 13

Parkinson Canada is holding a two kilometre walk through downtown Burlington on Sunday, September 13, raising money and awareness for people living with Parkinson's disease. Registration opens at 10 a.m. at the Burlington Lions Club, 471 Pearl St., and the walk itself starts at 11:30 a.m.

Burlington is one of more than 30 communities across Canada taking part in this year's SuperWalk. The local fundraising goal is $39,450, and about $17,000 of that had come in by the time the walk was announced.

The event is free and open to all ages. Organizers are asking anyone planning to walk to register online ahead of the day rather than only showing up on Pearl Street that morning.
