Palmer Park Leash-Free Dog Park Now Open in Burlington

Dogs in north Burlington have somewhere new to run. The leash-free area at Palmer Park, 3409 Palmer Drive, opened this week with a grand opening held Thursday evening from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

The city built the park, with help from a local resident. Donations from Kathy Mann paid for part of the work, including new trees and a memorial bench. The result is a wide open stretch of grass with trees, which gives dogs room to run and owners somewhere shaded to stand.

Palmer Park sits in the middle of an established neighbourhood off Palmer Drive in north Burlington, so for most people nearby it is a walk rather than a drive.
