Every Burlington Candidate in One Room on September 12
Every candidate running for mayor and council in Burlington has been invited to Central Arena on Saturday, September 12, and residents can walk in between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to talk to them. Candidates are seated at tables grouped by ward, with a separate area for the mayoral candidates.
It is a drop-in, not a debate. Engaged Citizens of Burlington, the Burlington Gazette and Focus Burlington are running it, and incumbents were invited along with everyone else.
The date and the location were picked on purpose. The city's Food for Feedback event runs the same day at Central Park, noon to 3 p.m., about a three-minute walk from the arena, with food trucks and booths covering transit, stormwater, the 2027 budget and the Official Plan. Residents who give feedback there get a voucher for a free meal.
Burlington has five candidates for mayor and 30 running across the six wards, and several wards are guaranteed a new councillor. Election day is October 26.
