Burlington Legion Needs Evening Poppy Volunteers
Poppies go on sale around Burlington on Friday, October 30, and Royal Canadian Legion Branch 60 is short of help for one part of the day. The gap is the evenings, because a lot of the branch's longtime volunteers no longer drive at night.
The campaign runs through November 10, with volunteers at spots around the city including the malls. Even a couple of hours after dinner counts toward what the branch is trying to raise, and the branch's Remembrance and Poppy page has the details for anyone who wants a shift.
Remembrance Day falls on Wednesday, November 11. If you have an evening free between now and then, Branch 60 will take it.
