Burlington Logistics Firm's New Warehouse Could Add 50 Jobs

A Burlington logistics company is scaling up in a big way. Kwiksave Logistics has moved into a brand new 90,000-square-foot warehouse on Mainway, taking over the space last month, and it plans to add about 50 jobs as the site reaches full operation.

The company cut the ribbon on its new headquarters Tuesday evening. It is a long way from where it started: a one-room operation in a Mississauga house, then a 16,000-square-foot spot on Harvester Road since 2017. The new building is nearly six times that size.

Kwiksave is a "final mile" company, taking orders from various locations and distributing them around the Greater Toronto Area. Executive vice president Shariar Sabet said about 20 people work there day to day now, with the 50 new roles spanning order fulfillment, sales and drivers. As many as 25 trucks head out with deliveries each day, and clients include 24 of Aritzia's 30 Ontario stores, plus auto-parts maker Magna.

The business is a family story: founded by Matthew and Maryam Sabet, now run by their children Shariar, Rameen and Parisima. They called the new warehouse the largest investment in the company's history, and said even 90,000 square feet may fill up fast.
