Burlington Asian Night Market Comes to Mapleview This Weekend
Three nights of Asian street food take over Mapleview Shopping Centre this weekend, and walking in costs nothing. The Burlington Asian Night Market runs Friday, September 18 through Sunday, September 20 at 900 Maple Avenue.
The market is one stop on the Ontario Asian Night Market Series, which moves around the province through the season. Dishes that show up regularly on the tour include takoyaki, Hong Kong egg waffles, Xinjiang-style lamb skewers, pan-fried steamed buns, sushi sandwiches, tanghulu, taiyaki and ice cream mochi. Vendors change from city to city, so the lineup is never quite the same twice.
Food is the draw, but it is not all of it. Artisan vendors set up alongside the food stalls, and cultural performances run through the evenings.
