Three More All-Candidates Debates Before Burlington Votes
Anyone still deciding how to vote on October 26 has three more chances to watch Burlington's mayoral and council candidates answer questions in the same room.
The first is the Burlington Mayoral Candidates Debate and Ward Candidate Forum on Thursday, September 17, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at St. Christopher's Church. Burlington Men's Shed is hosting, all candidates are invited to meet constituents, and the debate portion of the night is reserved for the people running for mayor. Rishia Burke, executive director of Community Development Halton, moderates. It is free to attend, though organizers expect the parking lot to fill quickly.
Focus Burlington hosts the next one on Thursday, October 1, again from 6:30 to 9 p.m., at East Plains United Church. That evening is for mayoral candidates, who will answer questions and speak with one another in what the group calls a lively in-person debate.
BurlingtonGreen and Safe Streets Halton close out the run on Thursday, October 8, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Art Gallery of Burlington, with an all-candidates meet and greet followed by a mayoral debate. BurlingtonGreen executive director Amy Schnurr moderates, and guests who register beforehand can submit questions.

A fourth session has already come and gone. Focus Burlington and the Burlington Gazette ran a meet-the-candidates open house at Central Arena on September 12, across the street from the city's Food for Feedback event.
