Heritage Week 2026: Spencer Smith Park and Waterfront Walking Tour
Alan Harrington from the Burlington Historical Society will lead a guided walk from Spencer Smith Park to the Beach Canal and Lighthouse. The route follows a shaded, paved trail and includes stories about the area's history and points of interest.
The walk begins at the end of Brant Street by the historical informative signage. Attendees may end at the canal bridge or continue to visit the lighthouse and its keeper's cottage, recently refurbished by the Beach Canal Lighthouse Group and the Hamilton Oshawa Port Authority.
In-person event. Maximum 30 people. Pre-registration required at hb@burlington.ca.
The walk proceeds rain or shine. Appropriate dress is required.
