Bruce Trail Pilgrimage Hike To Smokey Hollow Falls

A 1-day pilgrimage on the Niagara Escarpment along the Bruce Trail, combining mindful hiking, deep history, and sensory immersion meditation.

Participants will walk with intention from Kerncliff Park to Smokey Hollow Falls through one of the oldest forests on the Bruce Trail. The group moves at a moderate, steady pace with stops to awaken the senses, listen deeply, and practice mindful walking in silence. Along the way, attendees learn the ancient geology, indigenous history, and the story of the 886 km Bruce Trail that runs along the Niagara Escarpment. Participants will come away with simple walking meditation practices designed to shift awareness from thought into sensory experience, where awe, wonder, gratitude, and immersion become possible.

The hike suits anyone who can walk a few hours over hills and stairs and wants more from a day outdoors than exercise. No meditation background is needed — sensory immersion practices are taught on the trail. All attendees receive early access to the Sacred Trek app, which includes guided sensory immersion walking meditations.

The guided hike runs from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Bring your own lunch and water. The group returns to Kerncliff Park's parking lot.

Kyle Pearce, founder of Sacred Treks, leads the pilgrimage. He leads pilgrimages worldwide and works with governments to build Camino-style pilgrimage routes that help people reconnect with nature, history, and the ancient stories of the land. On this hike, participants receive his perspective on the escarpment, a series of sensory immersion walking meditations, and a method for pilgrimage close to home in a single day.
