Geeky Book Club: October Meeting - Wolf Worm by T. Kingfisher
Geeky Book Club meets monthly to discuss fantasy and sci-fi novels. This month's selection is Wolf Worm by T. Kingfisher.
Geeky Book Club is for readers who want genuine book discussion. Meetings are focused on the month's novel, with guided questions and space for members to share their own thoughts and takeaways. If you've been frustrated by book clubs where no one finishes the book or actually discusses it, this group may be for you.
The club alternates between fantasy and sci-fi each month. Books are chosen by member vote; after attending your first meeting, you'll receive links to vote on future selections.
Wolf Worm is a gothic novel set in 1899 North Carolina. Sonia Wilson, a scientific illustrator without work or prospects, accepts a position illustrating Dr. Halder's insect collection at his manor house. She soon discovers darker forces at work: the mysterious disappearance of Halder's wife, strange animal behavior, and local whispers about "blood thiefs." Halder's entomological research has led him down a sinister path involving parasitic maggots that burrow into human flesh—experiments that may now threaten Sonia herself.
New members are welcome, whether you're a lifelong reader, returning to reading after a break, or just getting started. The club also hosts occasional social events between meetings.
