🎶 New Chapter for a Waterfront Tradition

The city is inviting organizers to pitch ideas for a revived June music festival on the waterfront, though officials admit the 2026 timeline is tight. Applications are open until Nov. 21, and the first year may be smaller while a fuller version takes shape over time.

Many locals still feel the loss of the long-running Sound of Music, and this call signals a chance to rebuild something rooted in local talent. Whoever steps forward will have support from the city and a community that still loves gathering by the lake for live music.

🎄 Elven Emporium pops up at Knox Church

Knox Presbyterian is kicking off the season with its Elven Emporium Christmas Market this Saturday. Local vendors will fill the hall with handmade decor, crafts and plenty of treats, making it an easy spot to pick up something thoughtful for the holidays.

Families can snap a photo with Santa or help the kids decorate a gingerbread house before heading back out into the cold. The market runs 9am to 1pm, with proceeds supporting the church’s ongoing work.

🚧 Slower Stretch Ahead on Waterdown Road

If you’re driving toward Aldershot over the next couple of weeks, you’ll hit a single-lane section on Waterdown Road near Flatt. Crews are still working on the widening project, and temporary signals are handling traffic in both directions until Nov. 25.

It’s a small slowdown in a much bigger upgrade that will eventually bring four lanes and new infrastructure to the area. For now, giving yourself a few extra minutes will make the trip a lot less stressful.

🌺 Burlington gathers to remember together

On the morning of Tuesday, November 11th, thousands of residents came downtown to honour veterans at a sunrise service in Spencer Smith Park and later at the Veteran's Square cenotaph. Cadets, RCMP, officials and families stood as poems were read, prayers shared and wreaths laid.

The Remembrance Day parade down Brant Street brought music from the Teen Tour Band, salutes from first responders and moments of stillness for those who served and never came home.

🌆 Fresh Start for John Street Lot

After weeks of detours and digging, Lot 4 on John Street is open again. The fresh pavement and new curbs make it feel a bit more welcoming, even though some pieces like lights and markings are still on the way. For folks who rely on downtown parking, it’s a relief to have those 93 spots back.
