🏠 Market Update With Kiani & Co.
As we move further into the spring market, Burlington continues to show healthy and balanced real estate activity.
In April, the average sale price across all home types reached $1,039,000, with 537 new listings giving buyers more choice and flexibility. Homes are also selling faster, with average days on market improving to 42 days compared to earlier this year.
Detached homes remained especially strong, averaging $1,359,000 and selling in just 27 days, while townhomes averaged $858,000 and moved quickly in only 19 days. With 3.9 months of inventory, the market is offering more balance than we’ve seen in recent years - creating opportunities for both buyers and sellers to make strategic moves with confidence.
Whether you’re thinking about upsizing, downsizing, investing, or buying your first home, this market rewards preparation and expert guidance. If you’re considering a move, I’d be happy to help you navigate your options.

The Trews Join Lakeshore Fest 🎸
The Lakeshore Music & Arts Festival is building on its first lineup reveal, adding more star power to its June 20-21 waterfront weekend at Spencer Smith Park in Burlington. The festival had already announced Walk Off the Earth, Katie Tupper, The Dirty Nil, with many more artists still to come.
In a new Instagram post, organizers confirmed Canadian rock veterans The Trews will close out the main stage as Sunday headliners on June 21. Known for anthemic hits and high-energy shows, the band adds a big rock finish to the free-admission festival. Check out the post.👇
Old Navy Opens Fresh Space 🛍️
Old Navy’s move inside Burlington Centre has been in the works for some time, and the refreshed store officially opened this week. The retailer has relocated into a newly renovated space with a cleaner layout, updated displays, and clothing for adults, kids, and families.
Shoppers will now find new inventory in the reopened store, along with sales currently running up to 50% off. Time to stock your closet for summer!
Affordable Housing Clears Committee 🏗
Burlington is moving ahead with a 74-unit affordable rental building at 1022 Waterdown Road after a Committee of the Whole meeting on Tuesday. The project, led by Indwell, was originally approved in March and heads to council for a final vote on May 26.
One delegate raised concerns about supportive housing near local schools, questioning whether tenants with substance abuse issues or criminal histories could pose risks. Ward 3 councillor Rory Nisan pushed back, asking how the building would differ from any condo or apartment in the city.
Council rejected a last-minute proposal to relocate the project, citing higher costs and grading work that would delay construction. Community groups voiced support for the Waterdown Road site.

Burlington Robotics Team Wins Global Award 🏆
Photo supplied to Burlington Today
A crew of nine high school students from E-Bots in Burlington just won one of the top 10 Think Awards at the VEX Robotics World Championship in St. Louis, competing against more than 800 teams from around the world.
The Pi-Lons, as the team calls itself, took home the prize for programming after designing a robot nicknamed Sonic to play a two-minute soccer-like game. The bot picks up balls, moves them into a net, and racks up points through pre-programmed moves and remote control play.
E-Bots draws students from across the region, including Hamilton, Oakville, and Mississauga, and the program runs from grade 6 Lego leagues through full high school robotics competitions. Congrats to these bright students!
Drury Lane’s Latest 🎶

drurylane.ca
Drury Lane is running Nice Work If You Can Get It through May 31, bringing a lively Prohibition-era comedy to the local stage.
Built around George and Ira Gershwin standards, the show lands at a Long Island beach house where bootleggers have stashed illegal liquor, just as the playboy owner arrives to get married the next day.
The setup quickly spirals, with the bootleggers posing as staff, sharp jokes flying, and plenty of dancing woven through the classic songs. Joshua Fleming, Kathryn Sears, and Ian McKechnie help keep the chaos moving, making it a fun pick for anyone in the mood for an easygoing night out.
