Let’s work together.

🏗️ 74 Unit Affordable Build Planned
Burlington is moving ahead with plans for a six storey affordable rental building in Aldershot. The City intends to lease 1022, 1028 and 1030 Waterdown Rd. to Indwell Community Homes, a non profit housing provider, to build 74 one bedroom units in a two wing mid rise.
Council will review the proposal March 3, with lease talks continuing in April. The City estimates its contribution at about $5.6 million, or $75,000 per unit, funded partly through its federal Housing Accelerator grant.
⛳ Millcroft Talks Set To Resume
After Burlington’s $15 million offer for the Millcroft Golf Club was rejected, local advocates say buying the course would be worth it, regardless of cost. As we reported earlier this week, the City’s bid was turned down, but supporters argue the green space should be preserved for the community.
City officials say no formal report has appeared on a council agenda yet, though negotiations are expected to resume early next month. ARGO Development’s proposal for 90 detached homes and a 130 unit apartment building is still in play, keeping the future of the site unsettled.
👶 Halton Seeks More Child Care Spaces
Halton Region says it is ready to expand $10 a day child care but is waiting on provincial approval. A recent staff report shows $267.7 million in funding for 2026, up $22.5 million, yet no new spaces were added under the Canada wide program.
Halton has 19,800 approved spaces and could add 4,200 more almost immediately if Queen’s Park gives the green light. Regional leaders say demand keeps growing, and Burlington families are still expected to pay up to $22 per day next year.

❄️ Coldest Night Walk Returns
Burlington’s Coldest Night of the Year walk takes place this Saturday (tomorrow), with 81 year old volunteer Gerry Anthony once again leading the way. The fundraiser supports Open Doors at St. Christopher’s Anglican Church, which provides food, clothing and social programs for residents facing hardship.
Organizers say demand for services has jumped 40 per cent year over year. Open Doors has raised just over $52,000 toward its $70,000 goal. Check in starts at 4pm, with the 5pm walk beginning at 662 Guelph Ln. A chilly evening for a warm cause.
