🛒 Double Debut on Plains Road

Burlington shoppers can look forward to a two-for-one grand opening next month as both Staples and No Frills prepare to open their doors at 1035 Plains Road East. The former Treasure Hunt building has been fully transformed, with Staples taking the east side and a smaller, express-style No Frills setting up shop on the west.

Staples will make the move from Fairview Street on Wednesday, November 26, followed by No Frills opening the very next day. The dual debut marks a lively refresh for this stretch of Plains Road, bringing fresh convenience for both office supply seekers and everyday grocery shoppers alike.

🚴‍♂️ Ride for Abbey Ends with Heart and Hope

After 35 days and 4,600 kilometres, Burlington’s own Callum Norris rolled triumphantly into town on Friday, completing his cross-country Ride for Abbey. His journey from Vancouver to Burlington raised more than $40,000 for Abbey’s Foundation, which will fund art scholarships in memory of local artist and Burlington Central graduate, Abbey Maguire.

Dozens of supporters greeted Norris with cheers, hugs, and tears as he crossed the finish line. What began as a personal tribute to Abbey has grown into a lasting gift for young artists in the community, ensuring her creative spirit continues to inspire for years to come.

🕺 Mrs. Roper Party Turns Up the Groove at Squires

It was all caftans, curls, and contagious laughter at Squires Gastro Pub on Saturday night as the second annual Mrs. Roper Party filled the room with disco spirit. Guests embraced the ‘70s vibe in full technicolor, celebrating friendship and community with music, dancing, and a dash of retro flair.

Funds raised from the lively evening will support Dare To Be You(th) and Burlington Helping Burlington, two local organizations making a difference for young people and families. It was a night of fun with heart, proving once again that Burlington sure knows how to party for a cause.
