🚸 Speed Cameras Coming to School Zones

Source: Burlington.ca
For better or for worse, speed cameras are finally coming to Burlington. They’ll be installed near six schools and rotated to new locations every six months, serving as a reminder for drivers to slow down during busy school hours.
Fines collected will be reinvested into road safety projects, helping protect students and encourage safer driving. Even small drops in speed make a big difference, and this program puts prevention first for our community.
🌉 New Drury Lane Bridge Opening Soon

Source: Insidehalton.com
After nearly seven months of construction, Burlington’s new Drury Lane pedestrian bridge is set to open on September 26. The bridge, which connects Drury Lane to Orpha Street, replaces the 53-year-old structure removed earlier this year and will now meet accessibility standards while improving safety and transit access.
Although the bridge will be fully open to pedestrians and cyclists, Metrolinx says some construction will continue for several months. A community event is also planned to celebrate the long-awaited reopening.
📱 Turn Your Old Phone Into Cash
A new ecoATM kiosk has popped up at the Walmart on Appleby and Dundas, one of 13 now in the GTA. These handy machines give instant cash for used smartphones by scanning your device and making an offer on the spot. It’s a simple way to clear out old tech, keep e-waste out of landfills, and maybe leave the store with a little extra spending money.

🍴 Burlington’s No. 8 Earns National Praise

Source: Burlingtontoday.com
Burlington’s own No. 8 on Pearle Street has been named one of Air Canada’s 2025 Best New Restaurants, placing it among just 31 spots recognized nationwide. It’s also the only Ontario restaurant outside of Toronto to make the list, a big win for our local dining scene.
Known for blending Italian and Asian flavours, No. 8 has quickly become a favourite for food lovers seeking something fresh and inventive. The top 10 list will be revealed this November in Toronto, but for now, Burlington can proudly savour this recognition.
