🎃 Halloween Fun Returns to Mapleview Mall
Mapleview Mall is getting ready for its annual indoor trick-or-treating event on Thursday, October 30. Kids can dress up, show off their costumes, and collect candy from store to store, all in the warmth of the mall. It’s free, easy, and always fun!
The event starts at 5 p.m. with playful photo booths before the candy hunt begins at 6. Look for the Trick-or-Treat posters in shop windows to find the sweetest stops.

👜 Purses with a Purpose Returns to Help Women

Source: burlingtontoday.com
As the cold weather sets in, the volunteers behind Purses with a Purpose are hard at work filling 1,300 handbags for women in need across Burlington. What began in 2018 with just 50 purses has grown into a heartfelt citywide effort led by founders Joyce Sharkey and Dianne Pruitt, supported by a dedicated team of 14 volunteers.
Each purse is filled with essentials like toiletries, scarves, mittens, and personal notes of encouragement. The bags are distributed through local agencies around Christmas, offering both comfort and care to women facing hardship. Donations are being accepted until Nov. 25.
🍓 Nine-Year-Old’s Popsicle Business Spreads Smiles
Nine-year-old Burlington resident Aadais Awalia St-Cyr has turned his love of making fruit popsicles into a growing business called A-POPS. What started as a fun kitchen project now has him selling all-natural frozen treats at local farmers markets, each made with fresh juice, berries, and a dash of creativity.
Aadais, who runs nearly every part of the business himself, hopes to bring A-POPS to local retailers soon. With compostable packaging and a “built by kids, loved by everyone” slogan, his venture is all about inspiring joy, community, and a little extra sweetness.
