We’re Burlington’s largest newsletter with over 11,000 readers.
Let’s work together.

Print is Back 📰
After more than two years, the Burlington Post and Oakville Beaver are returning to print.
They’ll now be published once a month, with the first issues rolling out in late March for Burlington and early April for Oakville. Their websites will still be updated regularly, so this is more of an added option than a replacement.
Print stopped back in 2023 during a tough stretch for the industry, largely tied to declining ad revenue. Since then, everything moved online.
For many readers, the return of the physical paper is exciting. There’s something about sitting down and flipping through the pages that really resonates with people.
The new monthly editions will be free and available at various spots around the community for pick up.
More Road Work Ahead 🚧
More construction plans are coming into focus across Burlington, building on the earlier updates for other parts of the city.
Ward 5 is on the lighter side, with about $13.6 million in work. The main project is a full upgrade to Appleby Line between Fairview and Lakeshore, including new pavement, sidewalks, lighting, transit stops, and cycling lanes. A few smaller neighbourhood streets are also set for repairs over the next few years.
Ward 4 is seeing the most activity overall, with roughly $87 million in projects. That includes a major long-term plan to separate Mainway from the rail line to ease traffic, along with upgrades to Fairview Street and several residential areas.
It’s a mix of big headline projects and smaller fixes, but either way, you can expect a lot of road work over the next few years.
High Tea In Burlington 🍰
A small spot on Fairview Street is bringing a bit of Victorian-style high tea to Burlington.
The Rosewood Garden opened in January, created by a local family who wanted to recreate that classic tea experience. Inside, everything from the chairs to the fine China is thrifted, giving it that old, cozy feel.
The menu sticks to tradition, with tea, scones, finger sandwiches, and desserts served on tiered trays. There are also more than 20 tea options to choose from.
It’s been picking up steady attention through word of mouth, especially around holidays.
Reservations are recommended, since it’s a small operation run by the owners themselves.

Blast Headed To Nationals 🥅
A Burlington ringette team is heading to nationals after a big win.
The U19AA Burlington Blast took gold at the Ontario championships earlier this month, earning the chance to represent the province at the Canadian Ringette Championships in Ottawa.
It’s a first for the local association at this level, which makes it even more meaningful for the team.
They’ve come close before with a few silver medals, but finally broke through this year. Players say a big part of that was how close the group is, with many of them playing together since they were young.
Now they’ll take that momentum to the national stage.
Donate Your Craft Supplies 🎨
Burlington Public Library is running a Craft Supply Drive throughout April, collecting materials for kids and teen programs.
They’re collecting things like paper, yarn, felt, and pipe cleaners to use in kids and teen programs. As long as it’s clean and still usable, it can go in the bin.
Drop-offs are open at library branches throughout the month.
There’s also a volunteer day at the end where teens can help sort everything and pick up some hours.
If you’ve got extra supplies sitting around, this is a good spot for them to end up.
