🍜 Dear Saigon Opens on Fairview Street

Burlington has a new spot for authentic Vietnamese food with the grand opening of Dear Saigon at 2405 Fairview Street. The ribbon was cut on September 20 with help from the Burlington Chamber of Commerce, and the restaurant has already drawn praise for its fresh pho, crispy chicken wings, and colourful mocktails.
All week, guests can join an in-store raffle for a chance to win free pho or drinks for a year with every $50 purchase. With three popular Toronto locations already, Dear Saigon brings its tradition of flavourful, lovingly prepared dishes to Burlington, quickly becoming a go-to destination for those craving comforting Vietnamese cuisine.
🛍️ New Grocery Stores Coming Soon
Burlington will be getting two new grocery stores in buildings that have been sitting empty. The old Treasure Hunt on Plains Road East is being renovated into a No Frills, opening November 27 right next to Fortinos. Loblaw owns both stores and says it wants to give shoppers more options in how they shop.
Over on Appleby Line, the former Toys “R” Us has also been approved to become a grocery store. The brand hasn’t been announced yet, but the plan is to bring more convenience and choice to the growing neighborhood.
🛴 Did You Know About Scooty?
Did you know Burlington has its very own fleet of e-scooters available for you to zip around town? The two-year pilot program, run by Scooty Mobility, lets riders travel the nine-kilometre stretch between Brant Street and Burloak Drive, connecting downtown to parks, rec centers, and even Appleby GO Station.
Just last week, the city hosted a community session at Haber Rec Centre to chat safety and bylaws. Councillor Angelo Bentivegna, local police, and Scooty reps answered questions and gave tips, making sure everyone knows how to scoot smart.
