Jersey Mike’s Coming to Burlington 🥪

From Jersey Mikes Canada Instagram
Jersey Mike’s is officially coming to Burlington.
The chain’s Instagram account recently included Burlington in its next wave of opening announcements, alongside several other cities across Ontario, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and B.C.
The location is set for 3121 Appleby Line inside the RUDY Burgers plaza, with no opening date announced yet. The Burlington restaurant is part of Jersey Mike’s larger Canadian expansion, which plans to open 300 locations across the country by 2034.
Founded at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike’s is known for fresh-sliced subs, grilled cheesesteaks, in-store baked bread, and its signature “Mike’s Way” toppings.
SVP Sports Replaces Giant Tiger ⚽️

A look inside of an SVP Sports store
A new 30,000 square foot athletic retailer is moving into the former Giant Tiger at 2025 Guelph Line, at the corner of Upper Middle Road.
SVP Sports plans to open in late August or early September, pending a city building permit for renovations. The company is hosting a job fair in late July to hire at least 50 local staff for the store, which will sell athletic footwear, clothing, and accessories.
This will be SVP's 14th location. The fully Canadian owned company has been in business for over 40 years and already has stores from Kingston to Niagara Falls, with recent openings in Kitchener and Pickering. A 15th store is planned for Peterborough this fall.
Downtown Closes for Weekend Events 🎉

Two popular June events are drawing crowds to downtown this Saturday. The Moon in June Race and Cruisin' Car Show return to the waterfront and downtown core, bringing road closures with them.
Brant Street from Caroline to Lakeshore will be fully closed from 6am to 10:30pm, along with sections of James and Elgin. Several other roads will see lane closures throughout the day, with most kicking in around 7:15pm.
The city is encouraging residents to park on side streets away from the closures. Bus routes 2, 4, and 10 will also see detours to work around the events.

Dog Guides Walk Packs Lions Club 🐕
The annual Dog Guides walk brought hundreds of supporters to the Burlington Lions Club grounds this past Monday, raising funds for guide and service dog training programs across Ontario.
The event featured walk routes for participants of all ages, demonstrations from working guide dogs, and family-friendly activities throughout the day. Funds raised go directly to Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, which provides trained assistance dogs at no cost to Canadians with disabilities.
The Burlington Lions Club has hosted the walk for over a decade, drawing steady crowds each year. This year's turnout was among the strongest yet, organizers say.
