🍺 The Tipsy Fox Coming to Brant Street

The Tipsy Fox, a Canadian-owned pub chain, will open its largest location next month in the former Shoeless Joe’s at 1250 Brant St., making it the company’s flagship. The space, vacant since January, will see minor updates before a planned September launch, with a job fair in the coming weeks. Founded in Erin during the pandemic, the chain now has eight Ontario pubs, including one in Oakville, and is known for hosting community events and supporting local sports.

🎵 Fading Notes in Burlington

For 40 years, Burlington’s free Sound of Music Festival filled Spencer Smith Park. Now, dwindling sponsorships, reduced grants, and lower alcohol sales threaten its future. Organizers warn 2025 could mean fewer stages or cancellation, though they’re fighting to keep the city’s beloved tradition alive.

🏅 Timothy Billington Heads to the Canada Games

Burlington’s own Timothy Billington will soon dive into the 2025 Canada Games in St. John’s, becoming the first local Special Olympics athlete to qualify. Known for his competitive focus, Timothy excels in swimming and a variety of sports, from hockey to karate.

His journey began with modest swim times, but years of multi-sport dedication transformed his performance. Supported by his proud family, Timothy now brings Burlington’s spirit to the national stage this August.

Burlington Backs Neurodiverse Families 🌟

CDL’s Carolyn Boutin urges parents to trust instincts, document concerns, and work with schools early. The centre offers free programs and resources. On Sept. 9, its “Neurodiverse Night Out” will raise funds and celebrate inclusion at Burlington Golf & Country Club.
