🎄 Charlie Brown Christmas Comes to Life

The Burlington Performing Arts Centre is bringing a gentle bit of holiday nostalgia our way next month. A trio of Canadian musicians will play the full A Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack on Dec. 13, joined by the voices of Burlington’s own Enchorus Children’s Choir.
Tickets run from $29.50 to $49.50, and the 7 p.m. start leaves plenty of time to settle in before the music begins.
❄️ Winter Parking Rules Reminder
With more snow on the way, the City is reminding us how winter parking rules will work. A Snow Event starts once snowfall reaches 7.5 centimetres, and on-street parking is not allowed for anyone. Fines are $120 if a car is left out, and towing is possible. The idea is to keep roads clear so plows can move safely.
Crews maintain thousands of kilometres of streets and sidewalks, so cleanup takes time after a storm. Residents are asked to manage their own windrows, keep cars from hanging over sidewalks, and avoid putting snow back onto the road.

🎄 Civic Square Glows for the Season
Downtown Burlington eased into the holidays with its annual tree lighting, and Civic Square felt especially warm this year. Families picked up candles and red shields, kids bundled into the crowd, and the big tree lit up with that familiar mix of colour and calm that makes the season feel close.
A few blocks over, Glad Tidings Church’s Candlelight Chorus filled Village Square with music. It was a simple start, shared by neighbours who showed up to enjoy the lights and each other’s company.
⛸️ Last Chance to Build a Park Rink
There’s still time to pull a few neighbours together and bring a winter rink to your local park. The City is looking for volunteer teams to take on the Cogeco-sponsored Neighbourhood Rink program, but applications close Sunday. Each group needs at least six adults who can handle the season’s upkeep, from training to securing a water source.
If you’ve ever pictured a quiet evening skate close to home, this is a chance to help make it real. Teams manage the building, flooding, and daily checks, including keeping that open-or-closed sign honest. Details and the application are on the City’s website for anyone ready to jump in before the deadline.
