Let’s work together.

🍣 Burlington’s Newest Sushi Restaurant
Spoon and Fork has opened a new Burlington location at 1200 Brant Street, moving into the former Denny’s space. You can expect a mix of Japanese and Thai dishes, with both all-you-can-eat and à la carte options on the menu.
Spoon and Fork already operates several locations across the GTA and has become a familiar name for sit-down Asian dining, with Burlington now added to that list.
Check out their announcement on Instagram. ⬇️
🌊 Emma’s Back Porch Update
Emma’s Back Porch was a go-to lakeside hangout for decades, and five years after closing, the space is still waiting for its next chapter. Since we last shared the story, there’s now a fresh property showing video giving locals a new look inside.
It also comes with a jaw-dropper price tag, roughly $47,000 a month in rent. The owners say they are still searching for the right team to bring a new legacy restaurant back to this iconic spot.
💖 Valentine’s Plans at the Library
Burlington Public Library is running a lineup of Valentine’s-themed programs from February 1 to 14, with free events happening at branches across the city. The schedule includes talks, movie nights, and a Valentine’s edition of their open mic.
You’ll also find blind date with a book displays, a bookmark contest, and drop-in activities for kids. It’s an easy way to break up the winter routine and spend a bit of time at the library this month.

🏆 Grey Cup Glory, Burlington Roots
After winning the Grey Cup with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Burlington’s A.J. Allen is back home and reflecting on the long road it took to get there. From his days at M.M. Robinson to years of grinding without championships, he says those experiences shaped his work ethic more than the win itself.
Allen has been overwhelmed by support from the community and plans to bring the Grey Cup around Burlington as a thank-you. While he’s proud of the moment, he’s clear that he’s not done yet. For him, the goal is simple. Do it again.
🍩 Bloomers Feels Right at Home
Bloomers isn’t just another bakery in Burlington. For owners Juliana and Thiago Ramalho, it’s where work, family, and community overlap. Since opening in 2022, the shop has leaned into a slower, more family-focused feel, complete with a kids’ book corner and shelves full of made-from-scratch treats.
The donuts get most of the attention, with rotating seasonal flavours and Valentine’s specials, but plenty of regulars aren’t vegan at all. They’re just here for really good desserts, made thoughtfully, by people who genuinely love being part of the neighbourhood.
