🎁 Arts Burlington Holiday Sale Returns

The Art Gallery of Burlington will host its beloved Arts Burlington Holiday Sale on Saturday, November 22, and Sunday, November 23. The event brings together local artists and craftspeople offering everything from handmade pottery and woodwork to beautiful photographs of Burlington’s own scenic spots.

Visitors can browse from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, discovering unique, locally made treasures perfect for thoughtful Christmas giving.

🌲 New Tyendinaga Trail

A brand-new 2 km trail connecting Tyandaga Golf Course to City View Park is breaking ground this week, with staff recommending the name “Tyendinaga Trail.” The $400,000 project, backed by a federal tourism grant, will wind through Kerncliff Park and link the golf course clubhouse to the City View pavilion.

City staff say the name honours Chief Joseph Brant, whose Mohawk name, Thayendanegea, inspired “Tyendinaga.” The term refers to “standing people” or trees connected by shared roots, symbolizing unity and strength.

🎅 Santa Paws Visits Burlington Shelter

The Burlington Animal Shelter is welcoming Santa Claus on Saturday, November 22, for a festive fundraiser in support of the Promoting Animal Welfare fund. Visitors can snap a pet photo with Santa for $10, with all proceeds helping care for local shelter animals.

Alongside the photo fun, guests can browse a garage sale featuring new and gently used pet items and meet some adorable animals looking for their forever homes.
