Let’s work together.

🚴♂️ $3.8M Transportation Investment
The federal government is putting $3.8 million toward Burlington’s plan to rebuild more than six kilometres of Prospect Street and Graham’s Lane, alongside the city’s own $11.9-million contribution. The work includes protected bike lanes, upgraded lighting, better crosswalks, and improved sidewalks and curbs.
Once finished, this corridor will form a clearer east–west route for people who bike, walk, or roll.
🥾 Shape Burlington’s Trail System
The city is updating its Community Trails Strategy and is looking for feedback from people who spend time on local paths. That includes the Waterfront Trail, Tyandaga, and the small routes that connect many of our neighbourhoods. A short survey asks about signage, amenities like charging stations, and what would make the trail network easier to use.
Residents can participate until Dec. 7. The answers will help the city decide where to focus improvements so the next round of upgrades reflects what trail users actually need.
🎶 Sultans of String Bring Global Sound to BPAC
Sultans of String return to the Burlington Performing Arts Centre on December 19 with Christmas Caravan, a show that blends holiday music with instruments and traditions from around the world. The lineup includes everything from Flamenco dance to the nyckelharpa, plus a guest appearance by the Oakville Children’s Choir. Founder Chris McKhool, a Burlington resident, says the band’s mix of styles is grounded in the idea that collaboration leads to something new.
The group shifts its sound depending on each performance, which keeps their shows feeling fresh and close to the communities they play in. Their upcoming concert offers a chance to hear that mix up close, especially for anyone who enjoys music that reaches beyond one genre. Tickets are available through BPAC.

🌆 Community Rallies for Housing Support Fund
The Burlington Community Foundation is off to a strong start, already reaching its first $50,000 goal to help Wesley and Shifra Homes support families facing housing crises. Those early gifts came from generous residents and local groups, showing how quickly neighbours can step up when the need is close to home.
Now the foundation is working toward a permanent Housing Support Fund that would offer yearly grants for essentials like furnishings and appliances. It’s a steady way for Burlington to help families rebuild with dignity, and the campaign continues through December for anyone who wants to be part of it.
🎉 Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre Turns Ten
Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre is celebrating 10 years of caring for kids and families across the region. Since opening in 2015, the centre has supported more than 70,000 children through services ranging from developmental pediatrics to mental health, autism care and its nationally recognized prosthetics and orthotics lab.
The anniversary highlights how much the centre has grown, with hundreds of staff and steady increases in demand each year. For many families, and even former patients who now work there, RJCHC has become a place where care, community and long-term support come together.
