12 Foot Sculptures at RBG 💐

Royal Botanical Gardens is mounting its largest exhibition yet this summer. Opening June 20, ANCHORBALL: A Curious Art Journey brings 18 monumental sculptures (some reaching 12 feet tall) from artist Ken Kelleher to the Rose Garden through Sept. 20.
The show marks Kelleher's first Canadian exhibition and pairs physical sculptures with a hidden augmented reality layer. Visitors can use their phones to hunt for 5 AR characters planted throughout the garden, unlocking a final digital work once all are found.
Adult tickets start at $19.50 and are available now. The exhibition coincides with RBG's 85th anniversary.
Lake Ontario Resilience Plan Seeks Input 🌳
Communities along Lake Ontario are being asked to help shape a long-term plan to address flooding, erosion, and extreme weather risks.
The Lake Ontario Coastal Resilience Pilot Project covers roughly 100 kilometres of shoreline from Niagara-on-the-Lake to Oakville. Led by three conservation authorities and funded through Natural Resources Canada, the initiative will combine scientific analysis with local input to identify solutions.
Burlington residents can attend an open house on May 7th to learn more and share feedback. Similar sessions are being held in other Halton and Niagara communities earlier that week.
Burlington Makes Travel Magazine Spotlight 🎉
Islands Magazine just named Burlington a must-visit Great Lakes destination, and they're not wrong. The piece walks readers through what locals already know: Spencer Smith Park's lakefront promenade, Beachway's white sand beach, and the Royal Botanical Gardens (which Tripadvisor calls the city's top attraction) make this place worth the trip.
The article pitches Burlington as the friendlier, more relaxed alternative to Toronto, with a walkable downtown, solid food scene, and enough green space to keep nature lovers busy. It even name drops The North Coal Kitchen & Bar and the Art Gallery of Burlington.
Nice to see the city getting some love from a major travel outlet. Just don't tell them about the QEW at rush hour, or they might reconsider that relaxed vibe.

Pet Spotlight: Meet Dawn! 🐈⬛
Dawn is a gentle 4-year-old tuxedo cat with soulful eyes and a quiet nature. She prefers observing from a cozy corner until she feels safe.
Life hasn’t always been kind to her, but with patience, she begins to show her sweet side, soft purrs, slow blinks, and tender affection.
Dawn is looking for a calm, adult-only home with someone who will give her the time she needs to trust and bloom. In return, she’ll become a deeply loyal and loving companion.
