Burlington Vegfest Brings 60 Vendors to Spencer Smith Park Saturday

Burlington Vegfest sets up at Spencer Smith Park this Saturday, August 15, with a day of vegan food, artisan crafts and entertainment along the waterfront. It runs from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and admission is free.

More than 60 vendors and exhibitors will have booths, tents and tables across the park. The mix goes well past food: handmade jewelry, pilates courses, and a family fun zone are all part of the lineup alongside the vegan menus.

Award-winning musician and animal rights activist Stephanie Braganza performs during the day, and the schedule also includes talks and presentations from several other activists, among them Vivian Polak and Eartha Lowe.

Organizers are running a food drive at the festival as well. Donations collected on site go toward buying vegan food for the Burlington Food Bank, so it is worth bringing something beyond your appetite.
