How and When to Vote in Burlington's October 26 Election

Burlington voters do not have to wait for October 26. Online voting opens at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14 and stays open until 8 p.m. on Friday, October 23, which covers two weekends and most of a working week.

The piece of paper that matters arrives in the mail. Every eligible voter on the voters list is sent a Voter Information Letter, and the Voter Registration Number printed inside is what opens the online ballot. The letter also carries the step by step instructions. Anyone voting in person at an advance poll needs that same letter, so it is worth putting somewhere safe rather than in the recycling with the flyers.

Advance polls open on two days

Three locations take advance votes: the Burlington Seniors' Centre at 2285 New St., the Skyway Community Centre at 129 Kenwood Ave. and the Tansley Woods Community Centre at 1996 Itabashi Way. All three are open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 17 and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20.

Election day is Monday, October 26, with in-person voting from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Three dates to put in your phone

October 14 to 23: online voting. October 17 and 20: advance polls at the Seniors' Centre, Skyway and Tansley Woods. October 26: election day, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Bring or keep your Voter Information Letter for all three.
