Kelly's Bake Shoppe Reopens in Downtown Burlington on October 10

Kelly's Bake Shoppe is coming back to downtown Burlington. The bakery reopens on Saturday, October 10, at the corner of Brant and Maria streets, 18 months after its original Brant Street location closed, and only a short walk from where the old shop stood.

Owner Kelly Childs announced the date in an Instagram video. "Saturday October 10, the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend," she said. "Thanksgiving. What a remarkable weekend for this to have unfolded on."

The original shop opened on Brant Street in 2012. It was forced out last year when the building was demolished to make room for a condominium development, and construction on that site is still going.

The new corner location is close to ready. Workers were putting finishing touches on the facade on Monday morning.
