EV Charging in Burlington City Lots Stops Being Free October 1
Charging an electric vehicle in a Burlington city lot is free right now. That ends on Thursday, October 1, when the city starts billing by the hour at its public charging stations.
Level 2 chargers, the ones in most municipal lots, will cost $2 per hour for the first four hours and $4 per hour after that. Charging overnight in a public lot, between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m., is $0.50 per hour.
Community centre chargers follow the same structure at a lower opening rate: $1.50 per hour for the first four hours, then $4 per hour.
Level 3 fast chargers are a flat $10 per hour at all times.
