Burlington Cougars Win Five Straight Before Streak Ends in Toronto
The Burlington Cougars won five games in a row before the run ended in Toronto on Saturday, and the loudest night of the stretch was a 9-1 result against the St. Michael's Buzzers.
Centre Colin Ronalds finished that game with six points, two goals and four assists. Goaltender Paddy Landry stopped 30 of 31 shots.
The Cougars followed it with a 5-1 win over the Toronto Patriots at Central Arena on Friday, then lost 3-2 in overtime in Toronto on Saturday. Heading into the Friday game, Burlington sat fifth in the Western Conference with five wins, three losses and one overtime loss, while Toronto sat sixth at five wins and two losses.
The two clubs met four times last season and Toronto won three of those meetings, which gives the Friday result some weight this early in the schedule.
Home games are played at Central Arena, with puck drop at 7:30 p.m. The remaining schedule and tickets are on the team's own site.
