Burlington Candidates Answer Transit Questions Before October 26 Vote
A local transit group put questions to everyone on Burlington's ballot, and the replies are now published for anyone who wants to read them before voting on October 26.
Burlington for Accessible Sustainable Transit, known as BFAST, sent its questions last week to all candidates for city council and for mayor. Answers are broken out by ward as well as for the mayor's race, and sit on the group's website.
"There are a lot of pressing issues in this election, and one of the most important is transit," BFAST chair Doug Brown said in a release. "With nearly four million rides last year, Burlington Transit is part of the city's essential infrastructure. Surveys have consistently shown that Burlingtonians consider transit a top priority, riders need to know how their candidates will support them."
Because the responses are sorted by ward, a voter can read only the candidates who appear on their own ballot. Election day is October 26.
