Movies by the Lake

Movies by the Lake 2026 returns for its 5th season of outdoor cinema at Spencer Smith Park. This free, all-ages, alcohol-free event transforms the waterfront into an open-air theatre with lakeside views and community atmosphere.

Each movie night runs from dusk onward (arrive by 7:00 PM). Bring blankets, lawn chairs, and snacks. No tickets or assigned seating required — guests choose their own spot. Before the film begins, enjoy the sunset, catch up with neighbours, and soak in the waterfront scenery.

The 2026 lineup features seven films:

• July 7: Bend it Like Beckham (PG-13, 1 hr 52 min), sponsored by Perspective Vision Optometry
• July 14: Footloose (PG-13, 1 hr 47 min), sponsored by Toast Event Space
• July 21: Dumb & Dumber (PG-13, 1 hr 47 min), sponsored by The Rocca Sister Team
• July 28: Ocean's 11 (PG-13, 1 hr 56 min), sponsored by The Kuchma Team
• August 4: Stand by Me (R, 1 hr 29 min), sponsored by Lakeside Psychological & Educational Services
• August 11: A League of Their Own (PG, 2 hrs 8 min), sponsored by Minty Gold & Silver Exchange
• August 18: Big (PG, 1 hr 44 min), sponsored by Modern Love Jewellery

The screen is set up parallel to the gazebo at the eastern end of the park, near the Waterfront Hotel.
