Over the Ridge – The Story of Vimy Ridge
Over the Ridge examines the Battle of Vimy Ridge, which resulted in over 10,000 Canadian casualties and is often called the "battle that made Canada." Through direct storytelling, live music, and dance, the production explores misconceptions and varying perspectives on the battle while drawing parallels to other formative events in Canadian history.
The show features inventive musical interpretations of WWI soldier songs and original choreography performed by members of Ballet Jörgen. It probes questions about how and why we grieve, and argues against the exploitation of young lives.
