ART & EspaΓ±ol: Monarch in Acrylic & Ink Β· Bilingual Art Class, Burlington
Reported
Slow Down & Create: Monarch Butterfly Art π¦
Join a relaxed, bilingual art session at Williams Fresh Cafe. In this beginner-friendly class, you'll create your own monarch butterfly resting on a flower using acrylic markers, ink, and gel pens. No experience needed β just curiosity and a willingness to slow down.
You'll explore how to apply colour and build patterns in a meditative, step-by-step process. Every fall, monarchs travel from Canada to the forests of central Mexico, arriving around DΓa de Muertos. The session will share that story and the visual traditions of the Americas connected to this motif.
Everything is guided in both English and Spanish, so you can follow along in whichever language feels most like home β or use it as a chance to practise another language.
You'll take home your finished artwork, a pattern guide, and a new way to relax.
Facilitated by Alana Lumi, a Latin American illustrator who guides participants through every step in both languages. This is a relaxed, alcohol-free space designed for focus and calm. Coffee, tea, and treats are available from the cafΓ©.
