Motion and Light Photography Workshop - Mississauga
Reported
Learn Photography Canada is hosting a 4-hour Motion and Light Photography Workshop at Royal Botanical Gardens Canada in Burlington. Participants will work hands-on with a professional coach to master techniques for freezing fast action, creating silky motion blur effects, and using light strategically—from front lighting to side and backlighting—to add atmosphere and dimension to photographs.
The workshop begins with orientation, camera setup, and a refresher on manual mode and the exposure triangle. Attendees then explore natural light—its direction, quality, and color—and learn to "read" light before shooting, understanding how contrast, metering, hard light, and soft light shape a photo's mood. The session on front lighting covers metering, managing reflections, and adding depth through composition, with a practical portrait or object shoot in natural sunlight.
Personalized guidance, expert tips, and encouragement are provided throughout to help participants build confidence and develop their skills.
All ages welcome. In-person. Paid parking available. Refunds accepted up to 7 days before the event.
