An Evening with Rick Westhead

Award-winning journalist Rick Westhead discusses his investigative book *We Breed Lions: Confronting Canada's Troubled Hockey*. The book examines the culture of hockey in Canada, exploring how a sport deeply loved across the country has also been shaped by serious issues, including abuse, hazing, and sexual misconduct. Drawing on survivor stories, player experiences, and major hockey investigations, the book gives voice to those who have been harmed while highlighting the growing movement to create safer, more respectful, and accountable sport environments.

The paperback edition becomes available October 6, 2026. Books will be on sale through A Different Drummer Books, and a book signing will take place at the event.
